Growth Factors

Growth factors are proteins that stimulate the growth of tissues. They are regularly produced by the body to control cell growth and cell division, and play a key role in healing wounds. In skin care products, growth factors are used to "reverse" the signs of aging that occur as a result of a decrease in collagen, elastic fibers, cell proliferation and cell division. Rita Levi-Montalcini and Stanley Cohen were awarded the Nobel Prize for their research on Growth Factors.
